About "Cthulhu Is Hard to Spell"

Cthulhu is Hard to Spell is a book steeped in the mythology and gods of Lovecraft. The stories inside its pages follow the spirit of Lovecraft, but sometimes stray from the tone of Lovecraftian horror, too! Sure, some of the stories in this book are Lovecraftian in nature down to their very core, but there are also funny stories, cute stories, fantasy stories, sci-fi stories, and much, much more that build on the Lovecraftian mythos.

If you love Lovecraft, this is our love letter to Lovecraft fans of all kinds, from those who obsess about Cthulhu, to the ones who never want to leave Arkham, to the ones who keep a copy of the Necronomicon under their pillow, and everyone in between. Whether you are a casual fan or a rabid one, we've got you covered.

Have You SEEN These Dice?
about 1 year ago – Tue, Feb 28, 2023 at 04:44:11 PM

Okay, we're going to be honest with you, COG fan…

We are totally obsessed with these Mage Stone dice!

We spent months developing their design. Jayel wanted them to look just like the Mage Stones over which the war between Rendaraia and Terra breaks out.

The concept was gorgeous, but how could six-sided dice be made to look as glorious as that illustration from the Mag Tower game book?

Enter Kristina Varnell, master dice maker at Flute's Creations, who spent months in talks and development with Jayel to construct these truly stunning custom pieces.

COG fan, we just got our first set in the mail from her. And they are SO gorgeous! Just look at this!

In this close-up image in the sunlight, you can see the precision, the shine, and even the shimmer on the red Mage Stones encased in the resin!

The hand-painted gold pips gleam in the light, and the high-polished resin feels beautiful in the hand.

We wanted to share them with you, so you can become just as obsessed as we are. We can't do this alone!

If you're a collector of gaming dice, we strongly recommend you grab yours with your high-level rewards tier, or add them to your pledge as add-ons! These dice are only available through this campaign, so this is your only chance to grab yours!

(The add-ons process is easy, by the way: Just sign in to Kickstarter, navigate to our campaign, hit the "Manage My Pledge" button, and add the dice to your cart.)

Be sure you tune in to our live game-play this Thursday evening to see them in action as Jayel & Lynsey use them live on-stream!

Safe & Swift,

—Your friends at Oneshi Press, Jayel & Lynsey

PORTRAITS sketchBOOK

This sketchbook, which is really more like a proper book, is a 200-page collection of pen and ink portraits.

The creator, comic book artist, Michael Penick, writes, "Because of my initial love of movie posters and therefore the necessity of being able to drawing portraits well, I've always been into drawing portraits. I also see drawing portraits from reference as a form of consistent practice in my efforts to improve my ability to draw well from my head."

Bookmarks Preview!
about 1 year ago – Sat, Feb 25, 2023 at 05:11:55 PM

Hello again, Mag Tower backer!

In our last update, we asked what you'd like to see on the bookmarks we unlocked when we hit $1.5K in funding.

And you have spoken. Unanimously! You clearly want to see the elven sorcerers the Mag on the bookmarks.

Bookmark Sneak Peek

So we decided to honor your wishes and put a Mag on the front of the bookmark.

…but also to sneak in a Vargas soldier on the back of it!

After all, there are two sides to this story. Why not have two sides to the bookmark as well?

Just to recap, our $1.5K stretch goal was that each and every backer at a physical level will receive one of these badass bookmarks with their rewards!

Next up: We'll unlock gorgeous Children of Gaia mailable postcards at $2K!

So, how do we get there?

Share this campaign with the folks you know who love fantasy, games, comics, and coloring books! Every share on social media, in an email, via text, or however you choose helps us enormously, and cuts down on the time it takes to reach our next stretch goal!

In the meantime, here's a video for you!

This afternoon, Jayel and Lynsey sat down to talk about Children of Gaia, magical relics, storytelling, and more!

Till next time, friends…

Safe & Swift,

—Your friends at Oneshi press, Jayel & Lynsey

Sunmaker

A great cataclysm has left the world concealed in snow and ice. To protect what was left of their culture, the Sunmakers sealed themselves away from the doomed world. Now their numbers have dwindled, and Tibhan, the last of the Sunmakers, must risk everything by returning to the desolate wastes to fuel the fire that preserves his people's essence…Even if the cost is great and unthinkable.

First Stretch Goal = SMASHED!
about 1 year ago – Wed, Feb 22, 2023 at 06:06:33 PM

Well, would you look at that, Mag Tower backers!?

🎉We've smashed our first stretch goal! 🎉

You're all amazing. Thank you so much for getting us here before we even hit the one-week mark!

Now that we've passed $1.5K in funding, every single backer at the physical level is getting a gorgeously illustrated bookmark with their rewards!

There's just one problem…at Oneshi Press HQ, we're locked in a debate about what we should put on the bookmark!

We need your help to break the tie!

Which side of the Mag Tower battle should we show on your bookmarks?

A. The invading troops of the Vargas Assault Squad?

B. The elven Mag sorcerers guarding the Mage Stones?

Tell us your choice in the comments below so we can decide!

—Your friends at Oneshi Press, Jayel & Lynsey

Elemental Dragon Glitter Dice!

Our friend Anthony Christou is making some beautiful dice that we think you'll love!

Anthony says:

"After creating many premium metal dice I wanted to create a more affordable dice option using resin. Having listened to customer feedback on creating affordable dice,  I'm happy to be introducing my next caged dragon set, this time with a cute little dragon caged in resin. Taking the four elements as our theme, we are releasing four colour variations to represent: fire, water, earth and wind."
